looking into Public interior, I have chosen the artist Richard Estes. my main reason for choosing Estes is his mesmerizing paintings of public transport, my favorite piece by Estes is 'Untitled,1970'. To me, this piece caught my eye more than usual, the detail of the painting is allowing not only the tone, highlight's and color to stand out but is allowing the painting to look realistic and I think that that is amazing. I am fascinated on how his work looks almost like a photograph rather than a painting and, I admire the fact that Estes uses quite public spaces in alternative to an overcrowded space. This allows us as viewers to question why? why is the surroundings so quite and think about what is happening at that time in the painting.
